What does this information mean?

Killing Vigo will open the main gate for a period of time, allowing all who wish to to enter Deathfist Citadel by the front door to the courtyard. The original test server notes for LU33 said that the gate would remain open for 3 hours, but the Live notes did not specify a time period.
