Journal Steps and Dialogue[]

  • Whittier: "My treant brethren saw the sun because of you, [Player Character]! They can be stubborn and slow to act, but they are very honorable. They know you saved them by applying the healing elixir to them."
  • Player Character: "Are they willing to help?"
  • Whittier: "They have agreed to take up root against the Crushbone threat, yes! Mossmane trusts you and asked that you show our brethren the Crushbone camps, so that they know exactly what to prune."
  • Player Character: "How should I do that?"
  • Whittier: "Take this reed. When you have entered a Crushbone tent, blow the reed and my treant brethren will attack the encampment."
  • Player Character: "I'll do exactly that."

I am to blow the willow reed flute when I have entered a Crushbone tent situated on the southern ridge around the Kelethin Outer Stump. Signal the treants from within Crushbone tents.

  • Whittier: "I heard the wind's song through the reed, [Player Character]. Tell me my brethren answered it!"
  • Player Character: "They did. And the Crushbone camps are no more."
  • Whittier: "That is a weight lifted from my branches! The orcs will always be a burl in my trunk, but you saved the city of Kelethin from them today, and for that I honor you, [Player Character]!"
  • Player Character: "Thank you, Whittier."

I spoke with Whittier. I spoke with Whittier and told him of my success.

Whittier was relieved to hear of the destruction of the orc encampments from around Kelethin, and honored me for all that I had done to save the tree city from the Crushbone orcs that were threatening it.
