Tradeskill Writs are a special type of tradeskill quest, similar to city adventuring writs, that can be taken in order to earn coin, tradeskill XP*, status, and faction. Writs come in two types, "Work Orders" and "Rush Orders". Rush orders have a time limit but require half the number of items as work orders and give better rewards.
You can receive Work Order writs starting at level 15. The timed Rush Order writs become available at level 20.

Starting
Edit
Each city's tradeskill instance or crafting area has two foremen that offer writs, one for work orders and one for rush orders. These foremen are also available as guildhall amenities. After talking to the foreman and accepting the quest, you must pick up your invoice from the nearby clickable desk. For rush orders, this begins the timer.
When you create your items, they are collected automatically by the shop steward's staff and do not go into your inventory. As you finish each line item of the invoice, the shop steward will check your work for quality and reimburse you for your fuel. (Note: The Woodworker arrow recipes may use a different amount of fuel but the steward will still reimburse you the standard fuel rate for the tier.) When you complete the entire invoice, return to the foreman who gave you the job for a small cut of the sale price of the goods, and the warm feeling that comes from a job well done (the promised coin reward and some faction).
The number of items you are asked to make is usually irrelevant, as it is based on the number of crafts (assuming pristine maximum output each craft). This is to balance classes that make multiple items per craft, such as Woodworkers and Provisioners. For example, a provisioner work order might require 24 items, while a carpenter work order might require 12, however, as the provisioner can make two items at a time, both writs require 12 combines.
Work Orders
Edit
Work orders usually require 12 combines. They award +200 faction to your home city's Tradeskill Faction and a tier-appropriate amount of status and coin. Your guild also receives an award equal to 10% of the personal status reward. They award additional crafting experience as of LU37. This quest XP is not affected by Vitality bonuses.

Rush Orders
Edit
Rush orders usually require 6 combines and have an 8 minute, 30 second timer. They award +300 faction to your home city's Tradeskill Faction with greater status and coin rewards than work orders. Your guild also receives an award equal to 10% of the personal status reward. They award additional crafting experience as of LU37. This quest XP is not affected by Vitality bonuses.
