Researchers or students in Sebilis Laboratory and Study (also dropped from a Sathirian gravelord 2010-02-07)
Hierophant Prime Kulgarn in Sebilis
a Gorowyn hierophant in the Chardok Library
Sebilis Patron near the Bank in Sebilis (these will drop as a grey mob 2010-7-28)
Dropped from Sathirian Archon (small chest drop 2012-01-07)

Speak to Ashe Boderra ( 29, 1, 29 ) /waypoint 29, 1, 29 on the docks in Enchanted Lands, to receive a book titled The Tragic Tale of Slezaf.
Speak to Edmund Slezaf ( -477, -20, -381 ) /waypoint -477, -20, -381 on the docks in The Thundering Steppes and give him 5 Platinum in exchange for Slezaf's Broken Lute.
Examine the Lute.
Speak to Freesia Ticklewing ( 161, 108, 171 ) /waypoint 161, 108, 171 in Kelethin, to receive The Flute of a Thousand Colors.
Equip the flute and use it from your charm slot to complete the quest and receive the First Magic Lyric, Then inspect the Lyric to receive next step.

This quest is part of the Dirge Epic Weapon Timeline, and can only be started/completed by a member of that class of at least Level 80.
