Walkthrough[]

The zone consists of two main areas. Area One where you zone in consists of a series of catwalk paths around the perimeter of the area, two rooms in the southeast and southwest corners, and a platform in the center with one of the three named in the zone. Suggest starting to clear eastward in a counter-clockwise direction to flow with the steps needed to continue past this area into Area Two.

Magmamatic Mage Headquarters

Circular room in the southeast part of the zone, contains a few groups of trash mobs as well as the void shard key holder. Clear them out and then continue out the room to the north. The more efficient path would be the first intersection catwalk that leads through the center of the area headed west as this will take you directly to the next named.

At the center platform stands Cruhm the Overseer. Simple tank and spank, just be mindful of the edge. Once he gets to a low percentage he will stop attacking and walk to the ledge of the platform where a giant elemental will finish him off. Continue clearing west until you get to the next intersection, this time going south into the southwest room.

Netherflame Forge

This room contains the next named The Doomsmith as well as some groups of trash mobs surrounding the room. Recommend clearing the trash first so when you engage the named you can focus on him and the hammer adds he spawns during the encounter. Did not have a whole lot of health, so we just focused on the named and burned it down instead of switching to the adds. Once he is dead, you will notice there are five stone pillars located around the room, each with a different sigil near the top. These must be clicked in a certain order that is located on the wall with the flowing lava in order to progress to the second area. The order is:

  • South wall pillar (Resembles a 'U')
  • North wall pillar (Resembles a 'M' slightly rotated right)
  • Center room north pillar (Resembles a '3')
  • Center room southeast pillar (Resembles a 'Y'
  • West wall pillar (Resembles a 'E' slightly rotated left)

When the pillars are clicked in the correct order, they will all remain lit and the screen will shake slightly within a few seconds of clicking the last pillar. If the pillars are not lit up and the screen did not shake, then the incorrect order was entered and you will need to try again. Proceed out of the room headed north, around the outer catwalk until you get to the center of the map where the lava wall used to be located. It is parted and you can now progress north into Area Two.

Magmaborn Furnaces

First thing you will notice once you enter area two is you can see the final named across a pit, and the lower pit is filled with a couple dozen mobs. On the far east and west sides of this new area are two valves that should be turned. Note that until you turn off both of these valves, one of the magmaborn down in the pits will run up and attack every thirty seconds. Once you turn the second of the two, lava will fill the pit and destroy all of the mobs so that you can freely engage the final boss, Firelord Kaern. He will spawn a lava pool every 20 seconds that does AE fire damage every few seconds, so most groups employ the 'fight and flight' method of doing some damage and slowly moving so they are not sitting still and eating the lava pool tick damage.

Once he is killed, the void shard chest is located very close to this area in a random spot either in the northeast cubby, northwest cubby, or right at the ledge to the lava pit.
