This quest definitely gets bugged (as of 1/4/07). I died when he attacked me, then after returning he won't do anything. Hailing him does nothing, and so here we are. I reported it.

Can't move it between characters. If the character you want it on hasn't done the quest then they can always do it. For your characters that have done the quest that you sold it on, do a /petition and ask the GM to subtract the sell value of it and give you the blade back.
