If you kill the Mazkeen spider tamer (roughly -933.53,-131.14,569) just west of Raven Eye Spire you will get the update automatically.

I got an update off of a Mazkeen spider tamer, first kill. So it didn't seem so rare to me.

Killed in the ballpark of 25-30 Kobolds looking for the update; none of them spider tamers. Just as I minimize to read this I get jumped by a savage which drops it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.139.149.225 (talk • contribs)
