The Gnomish inventor tells you he needs 20 coal. After you give him 20 he complains that this might not be enough and makes you go and get 20 more coal. He does this 5 times in all, so bring 100 coal with you! (To be clear, you need cheapest crafting coal (6c each) you can buy from wholesalers).
Crank the Wind-o-Matic Propeling Device to try and start up the S.U.V. (Superhydronic Utilitarian Vaculator)
You have to turn the crank very fast so instead of using the mouse and clicking crank (and possibly to save yourself from going insane), just let the cursor stay on the Wind-o-Matic while you keep hitting f over and over as fast as you can. Eventualy the machine will explode and send a key flying.
Pick up the key that shot out of the Wind-o-Maticwhen it blew up.
