What does this information mean?
[edit] Prerequisites
- You will need to speak Uruvanian for the step with the Djinn. Most players recommend that you you complete the quest Words of Air before going in the Palace to avoid running out of Djinn monsters and having to wait for their very slow repop.
- You will need to have finished the Poet's Palace access quest, Be Careful What You Wish For, or be grouped with someone who has.
- You must speak Di'Zokian
- You need 140 gathering skill
- Visit Smendrik ( 2604, 87, 1296 ) /waypoint 2604, 87, 1296 in the city of Gorowyn in Timorous Deep, he will send you out to find some items:
- Writhing Eye Stalk (in Chelsith-kill abyss lurkers in the water for rare update) *Head in, Jump in the water on the left* ( 38, 0, 380 ) /waypoint 38, 0, 380
- Black Coral (in Chelsith-140 gathering skill is needed harvestable node found under water near abyss lurkers)
- Soul sharpened teeth - Kill bottomless devourers in Charasis: Maiden's Chamber for 2 updates.
- Drake Eggs: Kill 50 of any drake in Jarsath Wastes (near Skyfire Mountains) for common update.
- "Pan Pipes from a powerful satyr": The Powerful Satyr - New Tunaria; turn left at the Temple of Growth and go up the hill and around the back past the Sentry Creation Chamber to the Satyr Camp. Hail Ephacles Tilikatos ( -998, 54, -1174 ) /waypoint -998, 54, -1174, after speaking to him he will attack you (83 ^^). Defeat him to get the Pan Pipes. (He's easily solo kiteable, only problem is he casts stun which will mean your death if it lands)
- "A djinn willing to give me a mandolin": The Djinn you are looking for is Arash Abbas in The Poets Palace 4th floor of palace, approx ( 17.26, 305.12, -85.11 ) /waypoint 17.26, 305.12, -85.11)(NOTE: Djinn language needed
- After you have all the updates, talk to Smendrik in the city of Gorowyn
- Then talk to Ashe on the Enchanted Lands dock.
- Then back to Smendrik once more. Smendrik sends you out once again to get more updates:
- A Folly worthy of pleasing Bristlebane - Throw pies at people in Rivervale. Gather 10 pies off the table in front of The Fools Gold ( -52, -23, 38 ) /waypoint -52, -23, 38, and throw them at the friendly halflings in front of The Fools Gold. You must hit a different halfling with each pie. Once all 10 pies are thrown, proceed inside The Fools Gold to tell a sad tale.
- A Sad Tale - Speak to Liddy Bobick ( -78, -17, -15 ) /waypoint -78, -17, -15 in The Fools Gold. You will need to tell her a tale of two young lovers in order to make her and the others in the area cry and update the quest. (**See Discussion Page for correct order of responses)
- A Tuning Fork - Hail Otzal Di'Zok, in the Chardok Library of Divination ( 920, -44, 437 ) /waypoint 920, -44, 437. Di'Zokian language is required for this step (A_Mysterious_Red_Tome). Hail the Tuner, he will attack you (Level 84 ^^^). Defeat him and loot the legendary no-trade tuning fork for the update. ***Only 1 item will drop with each kill so make sure if there's multiple people in the group that need an update to prioritize the looting. (Update 12/26/08: the chest from Otzal now drops tuning forks for each Dirge in your group on this stage of the quest.)
- Return to Smendrik in the city of Gorowyn to collect your reward
