Raising the Banner was a special world event frequently used as the name of Live Update 49, which was released to the live servers on October 7, 2008. The world event continues the happenings of a series of live update events that began with Live Update 45, when Seeress Ealaynya Ithis returned to the Temple of Life during the world events called A Prophet Returns. Each live event since LU45 has been given a title that represents part of the story documenting the return of Rodcet Nife and possibly another god.
The World Event QuestsEdit

To begin the quests of the world event, speak to any D.I.R.T.Y. recruiter, found in any zone with a carpet that flies to the Sinking Sands. Speaking to recruiters is not technically a quest and does not show up in the quest journal; however, you will receive some experience just for speaking with them. Recruiters will direct you to head to SS and upon your arrival additional recruiters will guide you to the location of the starting quests for the event.
The main world event location, a D.I.R.T.Y. Construction Project, is at ( -1369, -168, -738 ) /waypoint -1369, -168, -738 in The Sinking Sands. It can be reached on foot easily from the docks area by heading to the croc hunter camp and climbing up the wall on the beach at ( -1445, -226, -380 ) /waypoint -1445, -226, -380 or by jumping off the intrazone carpet at the bottom of the docks (select Twin Tears from the docks carpet, then watch for the construction area and jump at the appropriate time).
Adventurers can begin their quests by speaking with Jimbo McDaniel at the construction project site. Tradeskillers level 20 and up can also speak to Zastik Togginscog <D.I.R.T.Y. Excavation Overseer> for crafting-related quests, which vary by profession. Other questgivers are located at the two D.I.R.T.Y. sites.
Rewards from the World Event QuestsEdit
Rewards for working on the world event include experience and money, but also include D.I.R.T.Y. Money, a token system that allows you to purchase items from Jimbo McDaniel once you have completed the main quests of the world event.
