The Tactician will spawn when you approach the statue at the rear of the room and immediatly aggro the group. For this reason, it would be wise to clear out the room before spawning him. When you kill him, a second 'him' will spawn and again aggro the group. He will repeat this trick one final time before eating dirt and coughing up a chest.
