Makoto Shoda is a teacher of the martial arts and a follower of Quellious. He has appeared in game in several locations.
- Prior to the Return of the Gods he was known as Sensei Makoto Shoda and resided in The Elddar Grove.
- As the Gods were returning, Sensei Makoto Shoda spent a brief period of time on the docks of Zek, the Orcish Wastes but soon disappeared and did not return to his dojo. Apparently he spent considerable time searching for enlightenment and returned with game update 42.
- He is now known as Master Makoto Shoda and starts monks on their epic path, while wandering the beach in the Fens of Nathsar, not far from Omen's Call.
- With the current unrest regarding the fate of Erollisi Marr, Master Makoto Shoda has also been seen spending time in Antonica near the druid ring.
- Master Makoto Shoda plays an integral part in the ritual to open the gate to the Shard of Love on the North end of the Everfrost docks.
