It is possible to solo Hytkysis, although doing so can be rather tricky. Its melee attacks are particularly devastating, and aside from crushing and piercing attacks the mob has a tendancy to stun and attack with heat-based spells. You might be wise to try and slow / root the mob, or otherwise debuff the monster while engaging it.
