General Info about HousingEdit

To say a great deal has changed with housing since launch would be a huge understatement.

All houses have 6 broker slots and 6 house-vault slots (like a mini bank in your house), no matter what size, location and without regard to the cost to buy and upkeep a house may be.

  • The above is the maximum, no matter how many houses you own.
  • The change to the number of broker slots and house vaults is due to many factors, but the most common change is described in the section here, titled About Size and Room Count, since room count was the best-known (and often cited) indicator for slots and vault space in the past by those in the decorating and tradeskill comminities.

There are now two types of housing that have their own dedicated articles.

  • The housing listed here is only those which can be purchased in-game with normal coin currency, known as Standard Housing.
  • Only standard housing is listed in the tables on this page because they are easy to obtain with a little time and effort by any character, no matter when it was created and independent of the membership level (paid subscriptions or free) player choose.
  • A new type, that players can get by various means and that function very differently is Prestige Housing and all of those can be accessed from Qeynos and Freeport. A list of those houses is on the page about Prestige Housing.

Item count is not listed on the tables on this page for a reason.

  • Over the course of several years, we've seen massive increases in item limits, what does and doesn't count toward it, and many things can be used to increase item count. See the article on housing item limits (also commonly called "item count") for details.

About Size and Room CountEdit

Floorplans and room counts have changed in older cities. As a result, the old system of counting rooms is confusing at the least and completely misleading if you're looking for a house with the maximum space for decorating. Instead, Size is used below to indicate a relative size compared to other housing. Room count may always be somewhat debatable, but the counts listed in the tables below list interior rooms separate from any outdoor areas.

As balconies were added to older housing, they were often added to the room count when you zone into housing; in newer housing, this is not the case. Due to the rather random nature by which the game developers count balconies in some houses as a room and do not do so in others, balconies have a separate column (since they are a desired feature) and are not included in any of the room counts below. Other details vary by the cities of each alignment and a table (Housing Versions and Key Features) that can be opened and closed has been added to prevent page clutter on an already long page. To open the table that describes such info, click on the word Show above each table for "good", "evil," and "neutral" housing.

Housing Information TablesEdit

Any character can now buy multiple houses in multiple cities as long as the city has the same alignment ("good" or "evil") as that character, without changing their citizenship. Should you choose to switch alignments, you can still own and use any house you purchased prior. Getting back to a house you own after you switch alignments is now easier than it was in the past too; for info on how to do so, see the general housing page.

For your convenience, all houses that you can buy are grouped by alignment, rather than individual cities.

The table below was created and grouped by alignment because all characters can now own up to 25 houses and can buy them in any city with which they share an alignment.

  • These are only Standard Housing locations. A different type may be of interest to some players; it is accessible from locations in both Freeport and Qeynos and the names and styles of houses of this (second) type are identical in both cities; to learn more, see: Prestige Housing.
Where it is required to buy a house, GL stands for Guild Level and is shown in light green. The long numbers in light blue are the status costs in the table below.

Housing in Maj'Dul (neutral)Edit

Because the typical faction alignments ("evil" or "good") have no bearing here, housing can be purchased by anyone who has sufficient faction in Maj'Dul with one of the following: The Court of Truth, The Court of Coin, or The Court of Blades

  • If you loot or buy the insignia tokens from the broker, you can speed up your faction gain. If you buy them, make sure they are from one of the two factions you are not trying to increase faction with before you turn them in to, since all three are opposed to each other.
Insignia tokens from Maj'dul are: Coin insignia token, Blades insignia token, Truth insignia token
  • In order to buy each type of residence (by size), the specific residency licenses in the table below are required. This means that buying the most expensive (Affluent Maj'Dul residency license) from the faction merchants from any of the courts will not give you the freedom to buy the other two house types.

If you are considering selling items on the broker from any of these houses, bear in mind that characters below the ideal level for the zone (mid 40s and above) may have difficulty traveling to the house, due to the massive amount of aggressive MOBs (mostly NPCs) they will inevitably encounter. Thugs for any of the courts may loiter near the doors to most of the houses here too, so that can impact anyone within the level range if they have a court that's not currently controlling the city.
