[edit] Steps

This timed quest is very hard to solo at the recommended level, but it can be done with practice. Learn the custodian locations and prepare a route before you start the timer. You may have to try several times before you succeed. Invisibility is helpful, but not strictly necessary.

  1. Call for the custodians:
    • Play The Serpent Harp of Cul at ( -470, 23, 371 ) /waypoint -470, 23, 371
    • Warning: You are now on a 5 minute timer to complete the next step.
  2. Kill the custodians: Climb back down and kill the Custodians, easily identifiable by the company of ghostly goo they keep. The five custodians are listed below. Each will be accompanied by two scrubbing globs. They are located throughout Residence Court:
    • Custodian of Cul'Osis - south-west end of the road
    • Custodian of Cul'Ahk - south-east across the snake pit from harp; range pulling is advised
    • Custodian of Cul'Vahk - at the building south-west of the harp (near tree)
    • Custodian of Cul'Dan - directly below the harp
    • Custodian of Cul'Khan - north-west end of the road (by green pool)
    • Note: the timed step ends when the fifth custodian dies. You do not have to kill the goos. You can shed them by feign-death, or by climbing a wall (you'll have to /yell to break the encounter before you can climb).
  3. Return to Ruins of the Great Directory to close the quest.

Hints:

  • If you find any ghostly goos without a custodian, then you must slay the goos before the custodian can respawn.
  • It appears that the custodians only spawn when the Harp of Cul is used. The custodians then walk about the zone for several minutes, and eventually settle at their final location. I would suggest using the harp, letting the timer run out to allow the custodians to settle, and then use the harp again for your run.
  • If your timer runs out, just play the harp to try again. But make sure the custodians have all spawned first!
  • A route that works well is as follows:
  1. Run to SW corner, kill Cul'Osis ( -296, -7, 490 ) /waypoint -296, -7, 490
  2. Run North (to pool), kill Cul'Khan ( -285, -1, 355 ) /waypoint -285, -1, 355
  3. Run East, kill Cul'Dan ( -418, -11, 374 ) /waypoint -418, -11, 374
  4. Run across the street (south) and kill Cul'Vahk ( -422, -13, 439 ) /waypoint -422, -13, 439
  5. Run South-East above snake pit, range-pull and kill Cul'Ahk ( -495, -21, 469 ) /waypoint -495, -21, 469
  • This quest is easily soloable at 64 or higher, since all of the enemies in the zone will be gray to you.
