- Hamnal Teolofin: "Yes? What can I do for you?"
- Player Character: "I'm curious to learn more about the fae."
- Hamnal Teolofin: "You sound a bit put out. Have you been talking with Raimo?"
- Player Character: "Yes! How did you know?"
- Hamnal Teolofin: "He's an old friend of mine. Our spirits have grown together through many of your Ages. We fae measure our time in rings, as do other of nature's living beings. In our Burning Ring -- the War of the Fay to your kind -- his spirit died defending Kelethin."
- Player Character: "Wait a minute -- how old is that guy?"
- Hamnal Teolofin: "Our spirits are ageless, though our bodies are much like yours -- they come and go over time. The fae are connected to nature in such a way that we can sometimes remember our spirits' experiences. His have, unfortunately, not all been good ones."
- Player Character: "Is that why he seems so bitter?"
- Hamnal Teolofin: "Yes. For in that time, his spirit fell defending our Queen as the Outsiders swept through the Faydark. Outsiders, mind you, that had never given any thought to the fae before. To them, we were just an inconvenience to be destroyed on their way to Felwithe."
- Player Character: "So he takes that out on folks who actually want to learn about the fae?"
- Hamnal Teolofin: "Unfortunately, yes. You'll find many fae who feel the way Raimo does -- but you will also meet many, like myself, who are willing to greet you with more of an open mind. I hope that doesn't put a damper on your desire to learn more."
- Player Character: "Not at all. Thank you for the lesson."
