What does this information mean?
The Arena of Heroes is a place where
Splitpaw Gnolls and any would-be heroes come to test their might in combat against great beasts. Should a new champion arise, they would be rewarded with new armor, weapons and unique vanity items.
The zone is a controlled-gauntlet; simply talk to
Fip Slytail to initiate the event, and every time thereafter defeating a challenge. The list of challenges is as such:
A frenzied cavern lizard
A ravenous tunnel feeder
Grunk "Priest Eater" Smashsnout
A captured evil eye
A zygomyd decay sower
Stormbrow and Stratus
An arena wolf x3
Speak to Fip Slytail a final time and select the last dialogue option stating that you would like your prize and would like to return to
Splitpaw Den. Kill the treasure chest mimic that spawns at the center of the arena and it will drop an actual Treasure Chest containing various equipment items and two guaranteed drops:
Terramite Shard of Transformation, an illusion which turns you into a Splitpaw Gnoll
Splitpaw Dreadsnout, a house-pet
Once you have entered the Arena of Heroes, you may not exit without defeating at least one challenger. If you wish to leave after that, inform Fip and the terraporter will become active.
If anyone in the group is too high, they must mentor down BEFORE you engage the first challenger or you will have trivialized the Arena and no experience nor treasure will be awarded.
Completion of this instance is one of the several ways to earn the trust of the Splitpaw Gnolls and advance A Darkened Shard.
If you're struggling with killing The Murk, here are some suggestions:
Endurance (wait for about 5 complete heals)
Killing the mini-Murks throughout the room, then killing him
The mini-Murks will run to the big one and sacrifice themselves when he is at about 20% HP. He will then be at FULL Health & Power. They do it one at a time, so kill those mini-Murks fast.
