How to Start Kill the Morak devourers at ( 271, -5, -11 ) Copy in Dead Canyon. When they're dead, click on the halfling climbing the tree. He'll turn into a lost scout. Speak to him to start the quest.

"I ran into an unfortunate (and lost) Qeynosian scout who had been chased up a tree by a pack of Morak devourers. He was shaken up by the incident. He's terrified of canines and had no idea that the Moraks in the area were hounds. I'll take a quick look ahead and clear out the Moraks for him." -- Everquest II Journal

  4. Deliver the gift to a Sapswill soothsayer-71, 13, -163 ) Copy at the The Last Stand to receive your reward.

  • a lost scout: "Wh..where are they? Those nasty, evil Moraks?"
  • Player Character: "I've gotten rid of them. are there more?"
  • a lost scout: "Get them away! who knew that Moraks were hounds, I ask you? They've got to be eliminated! Dratted beats!"
  • Player character: "I'll get rid of them."
  • a lost scout: "If they come back, you know where you'll find me -- up in this tree!"
  • Player Character: "Well. Okay."

A Qeynosian scout asked me to help him rid the Colony of the ferocious hounds known as Moraks. I need to clear out the Morak devourers near Dead Canyon.

I've removed the Morak devourer menace. I should tell the lost Qeynosian scout to run while he still can!

  • a lost scout: "Wh..where are they? Those nasty, evil Moraks?"
  • Player Character: "You look pretty shaken up."
  • a lost scout: "Whew! When I was assigned to explore the village, I had no idea there would be these... these dogs! I'm deathly afraid of them. Got bitten very badly as a child, you see. This is terrible! How can I finish my missions? Hmm! You don't seem to be frightened of them."
  • Player Character: "These little pups? They don't scare me."
  • a lost scout: "I would be forever in your debt if you could perhaps take a quick peek around the village for me and clear out any of these wretched Moraks so that I can continue on my mission. Please?"
  • Player Character: "Not a problem. Wait for me here."

I've helped the Qeynosian scout by clearing out the Moraks. The Qeynosian scout is too terrified of the Morak to continue his mission forward and has asked me to do some unofficial scouting. Explore the Abandoned Village. Explore Sapswill Hill. Clear away more Morak.

I've done a bit of scouting ahead and find that this area is teeming with Moraks. The lost Qeynosian scout will be dismayed when he hears my report. Tell the lost Qeynosian scout about the abundant Moraks in the area.

  • a lost scout: "Wh..where are they? Those nasty, evil Moraks?"
  • Player Character: "You're not going to like this...there are multitudes of Moraks ahead."
  • a lost scout: "Oh, dear."
  • Player Character: "The Moraks are even more plentiful around the village. I cleared a path, but they'll soon be back."
  • a lost scout: "I do owe you for this, friend. I'm primarily a scout, but also a diplomat-in-training. I'm supposed to open lines of communication with the Sapswill soothsayer, who supposedly knows a great deal about what's ailing our Colony. Can you take him this gift? As the act of a diplomat-in-training?"
  • Player Character: "I'll take care of it, no worries."

I've delivered the bad news to the Qeynosian scout. As a diplomatic gesture, I need to take this package to the Sapswill soothsayer. This package must be given to the Sapswill soothsayer at the Last Stand.

  • a Sapswill soothsayer: "Grexx promises us and his promises is kept!"
  • Player Character: "I bring you a gift from the people of Qeynos."
  • a Sapswill soothsayer: "Hello! Hello! I knew you would be coming! I knew! And bringing a present... we loves presents!"
  • Player Character: "It's a small token of friendship. A diplomatic gesture."
  • a Sapswill soothsayer: "Friends for life, we are now! Is our tradition to greet everyone we meet. Go meet the Sapswills! is the diplomatic way! Hail them all! We like friends! Meet the Sapswills, then meet High Chieftain Grexx! He likes friends, too! to long life and happy friendships!

I've delivered the gift. I've been diplomatic with the Sapswill soothsayer.

The lost Qeynosian scout will have a difficult time if his work takes him through the Sapswill Village with any frequency; the place is full of Moraks! Though I cleared a path for him, there are many more Moraks. Hopefully, my new friend will be able to overcome his fears and continue scouting on behalf of Qeynos. To further help him, I played diplomat-in-training and visited the Sapswill soothsayer.
