He spawns with his group near the entrance when you kill 3 other named mobs in the area, blocking your way out. He used to spawn with 3 healer adds, however in a recent update, he spawns with 2 melee guards, and he himself heals. It helps to bring a high level tank to mentor down or at least a properly geared tank. The whole instance seems to be underrated quite a few levels.
Cauldron Hollow Revamp (Live Update #45)Edit
Cauldron Hollow, including its boss, Descendant of the Torig, no longer require a raid force of 12 players (Epic x 2). He is now an Heroic level 35 with two no-arrow adds. The other named mobs in CH have also been turned into Heroic encounters.
