Quest text that shows each time the object is examined after completing a step of the quest:
"After studying the unusual object, you believe it is a type of weapon. Perhaps it can be rebuilt. It's too short to be part of a sword. Parts of it are very likely embedded in creatures of the Enchanted Lands. Parallel lines of deep scratches on the object remind you of a bear's claw marks."
"You line the objects side by side and realize you have the handle, blade and crossbars of a katar. While you are confident you can put it together, you want to lash the pieces together to add stability until permanent repairs can be made. Looks like you'll be visiting the briarpaws again."
"After a bit of trial and error, you manage to attach the crossbars to the handles, securing them in place with an artistic (if you do say so yourself) and practical lashing of thin leather strips. The leather will keep the pieces from scattering until you've reattached the blade. Since the break is so clean, you believe the only way to reattach it would be with some sort of magical bonding agent found only on certain types of magical creatures."
"This is the most challenging step as the tang of the blade was snapped from the handle. You remove the thin leather strips from the handles, then heat the metal and join the pieces together. While the completed katar may not be as strong as it once was, it is still a beautiful and deadly weapon."
